Sway Predicts: Captain Ballard Makes a Move

On tonight’s episode of Scandal, “Boom Goes the Dynamite,” Olivia and Captain Ballard get cozy at a national monument; Liv finds out he’s watching her; Fitz loses control of a hostage situation.

Poor Fitz. Ever since he found out his presidency was based on a lie, things just don’t seem to work out for him. Though we can’t forget, he’s kind of a douche when he’s being himself, so maybe this is just karma.

Last week Fitz’s operation to rescue hostages abroad goes awry when a SEAL team raids a building, only to find there were no hostages to be rescued—looks like the White House has a mole. My guess is Fitz will continue his drinking rage as he tries to figure out who else on his staff betrayed him. The list is getting a little too long, don’t you think?

Speaking of which, the possibilities of who hired Captain Jake Ballard to watch Olivia are also a little long. I think right now everyone’s thinking Fitz or Cyrus, but there are two more possibilities—why not David Rosen or even Edison? if you think long and hard about it, and trust me I have, the chances that a jealous insecure potential fiance or even a wronged prosecutor looking for redemption could hire a spy of some kind, and the fact that it’s a Pentagon guy, and Edison is the head of the Senate Intelligence Committee, so they rank pretty high on my list of whodunit.

Now that we’ve laid all that out, process of elimination leaves Edison! David and Olivia seemed to have come to a truce, Cyrus’s usual solution for issues is a lot worse than surveillance, and Fitz is the President of the United States, he has his arrogance to live up to and a million other things to worry about without worrying about wrangling a semi-spy. So yes, I’ll take the Senate Intelligence Committee and high grade Pentagon intelligence officer connection for my prediction.
